Pay It Forward

Disclaimer: This post may contain affiliated links in which those links are clicked I maybe compensated for.

The world can seem like an unfriendly, threatening place, yet we all want safety, health, and happiness for ourselves and our loved ones. How can one ordinary person—you or me—make a positive difference in this world? One way is the practice "paying it forward." While the steps might be simple, the outcome could create a sense of luck and good will that changes the world.

Do something nice for someone you don't know (or don't know very well). It should be something significant, and not for a person from whom you expect a good deed—or anything at all, for that matter—in return.

Even small acts, such as paying the bridge toll for the car behind you when you pay for your own, counts. If it makes the world a friendlier place, you succeeded!

  1. Great reminder. We LOVE doing things like this, and I've taught my sons to do it too. Little things do mean a lot to people-like the state trooper who was short to pay for the meal she was buying at the gas station (she was going to have to go back out in the rain to get the money out of her car), so we paid for it. Or the hundreds of times one of my boys have jumped up to open a door for someone or helped them carry things they couldn't.

  2. I love the concept of "pay it forward." It's really something we've come to live by over the past few years after we received so much help when our son was born. Beautiful post.

  4. This is so very true. I love the movie Pay It Forward. There is nothing like the feeling of paying for the person's order that is in line behind you in the drive thru.

  5. Last week a random act of kindness happened to me! My son and I were grocery shopping on a limited budget. He kept asking for this and that and I told him we had a list and a very short amount of money. Next thing I know this lady is walking up to me saying she overheard me and my son talking and she handed me something. It was $40!! That same day I had to go sell some gold off. She came at the right time to lift my spirits up!

She did it in honor of this little guy named Brandt who passed away a few weeks ago from cancer. In honor of him they are asking that people do random acts of kindness. Here is his FB page :) https://www.facebook.com/TeamBrandtBallenger

I think for my pay back I am going to find someone buying baby items like diapers, wipes, food, etc and help out with that.
