Asthma Sucks!

Disclaimer: This post may contain affiliated links in which those links I may be compensated for.

Asthma (AZ-ma) is a chronic (long-term) lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways. Asthma causes recurring periods of wheezing (a whistling sound when you breathe), chest tightness, shortness of breath, and coughing. The coughing often occurs at night or early in the morning.
Asthma affects people of all ages, but it most often starts during childhood. In the United States, more than 25 million people are known to have asthma. About 7 million of these people are children.

To understand asthma, it helps to know how the airways work. The airways are tubes that carry air into and out of your lungs. People who have asthma have inflamed airways. This makes them swollen and very sensitive. They tend to react strongly to certain inhaled substances.
When the airways react, the muscles around them tighten. This narrows the airways, causing less air to flow into the lungs. The swelling also can worsen, making the airways even narrower. Cells in the airways might make more mucus than usual. Mucus is a sticky, thick liquid that can further narrow the airways.
This chain reaction can result in asthma symptoms. Symptoms can happen each time the airways are inflamed.

Asthma is nothing to play around with, one of sons had it really bad in his younger years in and out of the hospital meds after meds now my youngest whom is 5 is suffering from it to. He has been out of school of 3 days now coughing wheezing and fever as well. I am doing breathing treatments every 4 hours it was every 2 hours. We go to a specialist tomorrow and get this under control I cant wait I am tired of seeing my son suffer. Hopefully he is placed on a daily med to help from future attacks well I am sure they are they did it with my other son. My little one can not run and play like other kids with out shortness of breath and coughing. Though he has his good days and you could not tell he even has it other days he looks like walking death and it hurts me as a mother to see him like that and saying mom I can not breath.

Do you have asthma or know someone with it? It really sucks. I feel for all that suffer from it. Enjoying everyday activities is hard.

Asthma has no cure. Even when you feel fine, you still have the disease and it can flare up at any time.

How Can I Tell if my Child Has Asthma?

Not all children have the same asthma symptoms, and these symptoms can vary from episode to episode in the same child. Possible signs and symptoms of asthma in children include:
  • Frequent coughing spells, which may occur during play, at night, or while laughing or crying
  • A chronic cough (which may be the only symptom)
  • Less energy during play
  • Rapid breathing (intermittently)
  • Complaint of chest tightness or chest "hurting"
  • Whistling sound when breathing in or out -- called wheezing.
  • See-saw motions in the chest from labored breathing. These motions are called retractions.
  • Shortness of breath, loss of breath
  • Tightened neck and chest muscles
  • Feelings of weakness or tiredness
While these are some symptoms of asthma in children, your child's doctor should evaluate any illness that complicates your child's breathing. About half of infants and toddlers with repeated episodes of wheezing with shortness of breath or cough (even though these illnesses usually respond to asthma medications) will not have asthma by the age of 6.

The Story Of Christmas

From Luke 2: 1-20
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, everyone into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Overweight Trick-or-Treaters to Receive Letter in Lieu of Candy

Disclaimer: This post may contain affiliate links in which those links are clicked I may be compensated for.

This article really got my attention and I totally disagree with it. You can see it here and take the poll.
First this is not her place to do such a thing. Nor should anyone do this. If you want to help those over weight create a support group of some sort. We have so many bullying issues as it is but when I see things like this it falls right into that category so is bullying starting with grown ups? I believe so. As a adult we are suppose to teach our children right from wrong correct? Well I hope this lady does not have any of her own because he is teaching kids it is ok to point out the bigger kid this is wrong in so many ways and hurts my feelings. Halloween is for fun I am sure most parents with there head on right do not allow there kids to eat all the candy at once anyways. If this lady wants to support those with weight issues try giving the kids a healthy treat NOT A DAMN LETTER. How will this teach kids anything but being a bully? That is how I see it .

What do you think about this? Do you agree why or why not.

Could you imagine that child that gets this letter face when he or she reads if if they can read? It will cause some pain and hurt. What is this world coming to?

I have four kids! As you read one started kindergarten. I have one in 2nd grade, one in 6th grade and one in 8th grade.

My middle school kids were so nervous the first day especially my 6th grader the whole middle school thing was totally new to him. He was so afraid he was not going to no where is class's are in all. I remember those days. I to remember being scared as hell! I was afraid of the 8th graders at first. Turned out he had a awesome day and had his friends in his classes to which I figured he would. My 8th grader was just nervous period being the first day back in all but she to had a great day. Of course my second grader was just fine he has been ready for school to start to see his friends! All my kids are in school now I can't believe it. Time goes by so quickly.

Depression Symptoms & Warning Signs

Disclaimer: This post may contain affiliated links in which those links are clicked I maybe compensated for.
An estimated 19 million American adults are living with major depression.

Sadness or downswings in mood are normal reactions to life’s struggles, setbacks, and disappointments. Many people use the word “depression” to explain these kinds of feelings, but depression is much more than just sadness.

Depression, also known as major depression, clinical depression or major depressive disorder is a medical illness that causes a constant feeling of sadness and lack of interest. Depression affects how the person feels, behaves and thinks.

For major depression, you may experience five or more of the following symptoms for at least a two-week period:
  • Persistent sadness, pessimism
  • Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness, or hopelessness
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities, including sex
  • Difficulty concentrating and complaints of poor memory
  • Worsening of co-existing chronic disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes
  • Insomnia or oversleeping
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Fatigue, lack of energy
  • Anxiety, agitation, irritability
  • Thoughts of suicide or death
  • Slow speech; slow movements
  • Headache, stomachache, and digestive problems

Depression may be described as feeling sad, blue, unhappy, miserable, or down in the dumps. Most of us feel this way at one time or another for short periods.
Clinical depression is a mood disorder in which feelings of sadness, loss, anger, or frustration interfere with everyday life for a longer period of time.

If you have any of these please talk to your doctor as soon as possible for treatment and help.
Depression is a major risk factor for suicide. The deep despair and hopelessness that goes along with depression can make suicide feel like the only way to escape the pain. Thoughts of death or suicide are a serious symptom of depression, so take any suicidal talk or behavior seriously. It's not just a warning sign that the person is thinking about suicide: it's a cry for help.

I have been there and stay tuned as I will talk about it some with you.

Pay It Forward

Disclaimer: This post may contain affiliated links in which those links are clicked I maybe compensated for.

The world can seem like an unfriendly, threatening place, yet we all want safety, health, and happiness for ourselves and our loved ones. How can one ordinary person—you or me—make a positive difference in this world? One way is the practice "paying it forward." While the steps might be simple, the outcome could create a sense of luck and good will that changes the world.

Do something nice for someone you don't know (or don't know very well). It should be something significant, and not for a person from whom you expect a good deed—or anything at all, for that matter—in return.

Even small acts, such as paying the bridge toll for the car behind you when you pay for your own, counts. If it makes the world a friendlier place, you succeeded!

No one has the right to judge you

We are responsible for our own happiness. Were responsible for what we make up life.
Through out life people with down you and let me explain why. Usually those whom down you or judge you are going through something in there own life and they try to ignore it by getting involved in someone Else's. We can't control that. But you can make your life better by:
Forget about what others are doing.  Stop looking at where they are and what they have. We listen to the noise of the world, instead of ourselves.  So stop the comparisons!  Ignore the distractions.  Listen to your own inner voice.  Mind your own business.

Truth be told, no one has the right to judge you.  People may have heard your stories, and they may think they know you, but they can’t feel what you are going through; they aren’t living YOUR life.  So forget what they think and say about you.  Focus on how you feel about yourself, and keep walking the path that feels best under your feet.

The world is full of a lot of fear and a lot of negativity, and a lot of judgment. I just think people need to start shifting into joy and happiness. As corny as it sounds, we need to make a shift.
