Overweight Trick-or-Treaters to Receive Letter in Lieu of Candy

This article really got my attention and I totally disagree with it. You can see it here and take the poll.
First this is not her place to do such a thing. Nor should anyone do this. If you want to help those over weight create a support group of some sort. We have so many bullying issues as it is but when I see things like this it falls right into that category so is bullying starting with grown ups? I believe so. As a adult we are suppose to teach our children right from wrong correct? Well I hope this lady does not have any of her own because he is teaching kids it is ok to point out the bigger kid this is wrong in so many ways and hurts my feelings. Halloween is for fun I am sure most parents with there head on right do not allow there kids to eat all the candy at once anyways. If this lady wants to support those with weight issues try giving the kids a healthy treat NOT A DAMN LETTER. How will this teach kids anything but being a bully? That is how I see it .

What do you think about this? Do you agree why or why not.

Could you imagine that child that gets this letter face when he or she reads if if they can read? It will cause some pain and hurt. What is this world coming to?

  1. What a tool this woman is, it's totally not her place. AND if shes that gung ho about health, why not hand out a healthy alternative for all the kids, not segregate them based on what her opinion of obese is. sickening.

  2. How freaking rude! A complete stranger has no idea why a child (or any person, for that matter) may be overweight. I agree with Brynn... handing out a healthy alternative would be a much better way to handle this.

I guess I get SO upset by this issue because I am overweight from medications. I gained over 100 pounds in just 6 months and nothing I did would control it. My doctor even had me eating under 1000 calories a day and I gained! I am a long-time vegetarian and eat very healthy. I also exercise at least an hour daily. I always overhear rude comments on the rare occasions I eat out with family... if not outright confronted by people. My husband and son are very skinny and have fast metabolisms. They eat three to four times what I do. I even had someone tell me they hope I don't turn my son into a cow, too. I wanted to punch her!

  3. It does take a Village-get that. We should all be concerned about our children's health, but this is not the way! This is horrible!
